How to take Lipitor
Lipitor medication is manufactured in a tablet form and is taken orally once daily. However, this may not always be the case, so ensure you follow the directions as printed on your prescription label. Ensure you always take the Lipitor drug exactly as prescribed by your doctor. You should continue to take your prescription Lipitor even if you begin to feel better. Never stop taking your prescriptions unless your physician directs you to do so.
NOTE: The number of tablets prescribed per-day depends on the strength of the Lipitor prescribed. In addition, the time between doses, the amount of tablets taken, and the duration the drug is taken is dependant on the medical condition related to the prescription and the discretion of the physician prescribing the drug. Always follow directions given by your physician!
Missed Lipitor Dose
If your physician or pharmacist has directed you to take Lipitor medication on a specific schedule and you have forgotten a dose, you can take it as soon as you remember. If you remember close to the time for your next dosage of Lipitor, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Never take a double dose!
Lipitor Overdose
In the event of an overdose seek medical attention immediately!
If the victim has stopped breathing and/or collapsed, you should call your local emergency services (dial 911).
